I am a Health coach and single mom of two.
Here’s a bit about me.
I believe that health isn’t just about the food that we eat. What we eat affects our health and what we feed our mind affects what we eat and our health too. Careers, physicality, spirituality, mindset, relationships all affect our happiness which has an affect on our health and wellbeing. The most important relationship we have is the relationship we have with ourselves.
I used to be the biggest junk food junkie, party girl, sugar addict and narcissist magnet ever. (So I thought.) I was a young single mom in my twenties with a busy lifestyle. I loved partying, late nights, take-aways and chocolate. I was addicted to a fast lifestyle. I was never truly happy. I was constantly in toxic relationships. My wild girl status was a cover for not owning self love or worth and hurting inside. I felt lost, confused and didn’t feel like a had a valuable purpose.
When I fell pregnant for a second time (age 30) I started to re-evaluate my eating and lifestyle habits. Was I going to spend the rest of my life in this cycle or was I going to step into my power?! It’s true that you don’t know how bad you felt until you feel good. When my body AND mind started to feel and think better, amazing things started to happen, but the best thing was how I started to feel about myself.
As I had always been a single mom and had made bad choices with my relationships. I was still carrying around negative energies. When I made peace with the past I began to understand that we are the creators of our own destiny.. Our own authors of our stories. What other people say, do, think about you.. doesn’t define you. Inner peace comes when you stop giving power over your emotions to other people and know that true happiness comes from within you.
The other thing that led me to a more healthy lifestyle was my sons food allergies. He’s allergic to dairy, eggs, nuts and fish. At first I didn’t have a clue what I was going to feed him but when I started exploring food and nutrition more, it opened up a whole new world to me. Discovering what real health felt like eating real food and cutting out animal products gave me so much more energy, mentally too. Once you open the door you become so much more aware and conscious of so many things.
I truly believe as a single mom with two kids, that breastfeeds, is sleep deprived and super busy, that good nutrition has played a major part in my success. I also believe that my challenges were a blessing in disguise. The difficult times awakened me to my worth. Changing my mindset literally changed my life.
For 30 years I craved love and acceptance from other people. Through my younger life experiences, it had escalated into me searching for happiness through other people. This is a big NO NO. Now through teaching others what I needed to learn myself, I know that I AM love and that true happiness begins when you LOVE YOURSELF!!!
With my own experiences of how I felt better by introducing myself to a more plant based diet and changing how I felt about myself, makes me so passionate about health and wellbeing. It really is important to nourish yourself inside and out.
I studied nutrition at The Institute of Integrative Nutrition. I am a qualified health coach but my coaching comes from my heart to yours. I know first hand how difficult life can be when you’re stuck.
I taught myself how to create plant-based versions of my favourite foods. Take a look through the recipes on my website. They are so simple to make. Some of my personal favourites are my snickers smoothie, chocolate fudge brownies and the best chocolate smoothie. See, I’m still a chocolate lover! But more importantly, if I can do it.. so can you!
I am now helping others worldwide achieve their optimum well being, in all areas of life. I believe very strongly in supporting others with their health and wellbeing. We have one body and one life so we should look after it and not live our lives on someone else’s terms.
